This poster formed part of the 1974 ‘Henan Province Peasant Paintings Exhibition’, a selection of which was subsequently published. This was part of a larger initiative to nurture ‘peasants painters’ as part of the application of the mass line to the arts. This painting is from Xinxiang Prefecture, Henan(Xinxiangdiqu 新乡地区).
