- Description
This cooker—originating from Gansu Province—is heated by sun-light, making use of a concave glass mirror of a diameter of 1.5 meters that reflects the sun-light. The cooking pot is made from iron, while the wooden construction can be adjusted to the angle of the sun rays. It is described as a clean and economic way for cooking water and rice without requiring fire wood. Construction costs are 120 Yuan RMB. Suitable for a family of 4 to 5 persons it is said to boil three litres of cold water within 25-30 minutes.
