⧉Image Children's Magazines: 1951 Magazine Pages

These pages show school children and their teachers at an exhibition, learning about the Land Reform Law of 1950 and how it has been carried out. The first exhibit (top left) shows the landlord’s henchman hurting a peasant woman and child. The second shows the villagers with soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army, who came and helped the farmers. The third image shows a denunciation meeting, where peasants poured out their grievances to the former landlord, who is now tied up and whose land has been re-distributed. Finally, the farmers thank Chairman Mao for the great harvest after land reform.

This cartoon shows an American soldier as a hairy, long-nosed invader. The different panels show him going to France, England, Italy and Japan, where the people shout at him, 'American devil, go home!' When he goes to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, they don’t just shout at him. Bullets fly, and he runs for his life.
